After our talk about how great it is to have good weather in HQ this morning, it then turned to what essentials we need when we go on our holidays (excluding cosmetics, we would need one suitcase alone just for that!).

I spotted this navy Jacket (€26.95) in United Colors of Benetton and bought it as I fell in LOVE with it!! I just love quilted Jackets on little boys, they are soooo cute!!

So now I NEED to get an outfit that James can wear with this Jacket. I need to get something comfortable as its a Communion and he will be running around alot, but I don’t want him to wear tracksuit bottoms. Plus I want to invest, so I need to be realistic and buy something that he will wear time and time again (until he grows out of it)

What to ask for: 

Colour bleach blonde (scalp application ) ideal for fair haired ladies or blondes who want that all over blonde look rather highlights. Please note this method of colour is not for everybody but even try these gorgeous warm and cool tones through some highlights.

Styling:

Wash hair with a volumised hair shampoo (I like Wella enrich volume shampoo) and condition as normal. Towel dry and prep hair with Wella velvet amplifier style primer. Blowdry with a small sized round brush bringing the hair from the sides back.

When you get to the top section blowdry the hair upwards pulling at the roots to get volume. Use Velcro rollers for extra volume.

After hair is set use Wella sculpt force flubbed gel to get that sleek look(use a fine comb to slick back the sides) roughly run your hands through to the top section so the top doesn’t look to set so you get this ultra glam/punk look.

1. “You want to make sure your lips are soft and smooth, not dry or chapped. Once you’ve allowed your lip balm to penetrate into the lips (usually 5 to 10 minutes), blot your lips a few times with a tissue. This will take off any excess lip balm before applying your lip color.”

2. Outline the lips with a lip liner to have the lipstick last longest. I like to either use a nude shade to neutralize the lips or one that matches the lipstick of choice exactly.

3.  Fill the lips in with that same lip liner. This doesn’t have to be perfect as it gets completely covered with lipstick anyways.

4. Apply Lip Stain all over the lip and then blot any access off on a tissue and dust a thin layer of translucent powder on top to set it for even longer staying power. To keep the color bold and rich looking, I like to top of the stain with a lipstick in a matching shade. You can use a lipstick in a slightly lighter or darker shade if you want to give more dimension to the final result.”

5. With a lip brush start applying the first layer of lipstick to the lips. Begin with very little product on the brush really working it in to get into all the nooks and crannies of the lips not really thinking about the shape at first but on getting the color right down onto the base of the lips following the natural shape and line. Then take the brush without any product on it and just do some adjustments where they are needed by smoothing it all out and smile to see where you need to fill in color a bit.

5. Blot the lips with a tissue and apply a second layer of lipstick to increase the intensity a fraction.

6. Clean up around the edges with either a) a little concealer on a small detail brush or b) a q-tip with some makeup remover.

7. Balance the rest of your make-up
“To balance out rich lip color, keep the rest of your makeup minimal and modern,”

8. “Another tip is not to leave the house without what you need to maintain your fabulous bold lips. I like to carry the lip shade with me, because once the liner is set you will hopefully only need to fill in the middle of the lips. I also carry the retractable lip brush which I load with a little concealer and then close the cap, just incase I need to retouch or correct.”

9. Go brighter for thin lips -”If you have thin lips, dark lip color – whether sheer or not – will not be complementary, “Because if your lips are already thin, the color will draw attention (not the good kind) to them. So I’d avoid dark colors all together. Stick with brighter colors or neutrals. You can still wear reds, just choose a brighter one.”
