COVID-19 Updates from Athlone Towncentre

In light of the current Covid-19 situation, Athlone Towncentre is operating with an extremely limited number of  essential stores.  With the latest government advice issued on 27/3/20 regarding the movement of people, we would respectfully ask that customers would only visit Athlone Towncentre in the event that they require items from one of the following stores as these are the ONLY stores trading:

  • An Post (Mon-Sat)
  • Euro2
  • James McBride Butchers (Mon-Sat)
  • Marks & Spencers Foodhall (Clothing & Home Depts Closed)
  • McGorisks Pharmacy (Closed Sat)

As part of our commitment to preventing the spread of the Covid-19 virus, Athlone Towncentre has taken a number of steps towards safeguarding our staff & customers. Our team are constantly monitoring and reviewing our practices in line with best practice:

  • Our cleaning schedule has been amended to focus on key touch points and risk areas.
  • Hand sanitizer available at each of our pedestrian entrances, level A lobby and Information Desk for public use.
  • Our Information Desk remains closed. You can still purchase gift cards online here or check your gift card balance online here
  • Compliance with social distancing is being faciliated in all stores which remain open for business as well as on the shopping mall
  • All upcoming mall activities have been postponed.
  • Contactless payments are preferred in stores where possible
  • M&S have introduced designated shopping times for older, vulnerable and front-line shoppers.  They have also closed their clothing & home departments and remain open for grocery only.

Currently Athlone Towncentre continues to remain open to faciliate those stores listed as essential businesses. We are monitoring the situation and will adhere to all HSE and Government directives.  The Centre’s opening hours have been temporarily reduced and individual stores may be temporarily operating further reduced hours, you can find all store contact details here to contact stores directly .
