As part of the Digital Marketing BA course, students at TUS are aiming to help Irish businesses grow their digital footprint and increase their competitiveness through a series of live digital marketing projects.
Athlone Towncentre is delighted to announce its collaboration with the Technological University of the Shannon: Midlands Midwest (TUS) as a host company for its digital marketing capstone and consultancy projects. The projects pair students in TUS’s BBs (Hons) in Digital Marketing & MSc in Digital Marketing with Irish brands across a variety of sectors.
As part of this process, Athlone Towncentre is delighted to be working alongside TUS digital marketing student, Siofra Hannon from Athlone.
The collaboration with TUS gives Siofra and her classmates a chance to put their knowledge into practice through the development of tailor-made digital marketing strategies.
To date, Siofra has covered a variety of practical and theoretical topics ahead of the collaboration with Athlone Towncentre such as social media marketing, strategy, analytics, SEO, ecommerce, and content creation ideas.
“Our students are expertly placed to advise these brands on everything from search engine optimisation to identifying and segmenting their target audience, and key digital touchpoints through the customer journey,” – Dr Aisling Keenan, programme coordinator of TUS’s MSc in Digital Marketing.
The process is split into two phases. During the first phase, Siofra liaised with the marketing team at the centre to understand the centres goals and objectives before making recommendations. In the second phase of the project, Siofra will work with the centres management team to implement her bespoke digital marketing strategy.
Speaking as the collaboration was announced, Centre Manager & Head of Marketing for Athlone Towncentre, Shirley Delahunt outlined ‘we were delighted to have been selected as one of the companies for the Capstone Projects with TUS this year and are very much looking forward to working with Siofra. Digital marketing is such a dynamic area and is a key component in Athlone Towncentres marketing strategy’
