With all that’s going on in the world at the moment, we’ve really been trying to take our self care seriously the past few months and it’s really helped us, so we thought we would share a few of our favourite self-care suggestions in case it might benefit you too…..
It could be in a book, or down a YouTube rabbit hole, or anywhere that lets you escape real life for a while. For me it’s definitely physically getting outside and if the Summer of 2020 has taught us anything it’s how much there is to explore on your own door step. A few of my favourite local spots are DÚN NA SÍ Amenity & Heritage Park in Moate, Lough Boora Discovery Park in Tullamore and the Sliabh Bawn Windfarm in Roscommon.
So browse the best seller list and find yourself a story to escape in, or invest in some good winter coats for the whole family and go get lost.
A big clear out every now and again is a great way to declutter your mind. Set aside one night this week and plan yourself a pamper night. I’m talking bubble bath, hair mask, candles, favourite PJs, the whole shebang! Then try and get an early night. We’re divils for scrolling on the phone in bed, I’m definitely guilty of this, but I’ve found these amazing self heating eye masks in McGorisks Pharmacy that are infused with jasmine and make it impossible not to fall asleep!
If you think you will struggle to find time for this during the week, maybe make it part of your Sunday night ritual and it will really help to set you up for the week ahead.
