Cleaning Supervisor @ Athlone Towncentre - YSS

YSS is a leading provider of facility services across Ireland. We are now recruiting for an experienced Cleaning Supervisor to join our team at Athlone Towncentre Shopping Centre.

This is a hands-on supervisory role in a busy retail environment, requiring proven experience, excellent initiative, and the ability to balance leadership with cleaning duties.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and work alongside a team of cleaning operatives
Carry out daily cleaning tasks to the highest standards
Operate, maintain, and safely handle cleaning machinery and equipment
Allocate daily duties and ensure all tasks are completed on time
Liaise closely with the Centre Manager and YSS Operations Management
Manage rotas, staff absences, and shift cover when required
Conduct regular inspections and quality checks, reporting issues promptly
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies and site procedures

Requirements (Essential)

Proven experience as a Cleaning Supervisor (retail/shopping centre experience desirable)
Strong organisational and communication skills
Ability to work on your own initiative and lead by example
Experience operating and maintaining cleaning machinery
Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends if required
Solid understanding of Health & Safety standards
